The Gardeners Exchange

The Gardeners Exchange collected $340.69 for Rio's Food Pantry as of September 20th.  The money will be used for items not covered by the Pantry's food budget such as utilities, rent or non-food necessities.  In addition, tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers were donated. Many thanks from the Lay ministry fellowship team.

Lutheran World Relief

Each year the Women of the ELCA make up Baby Care Kits, Fabric Kits, Personal CareKits, School Kits, and collect bars of soap to be shipped to Third World Countries in the fall.  The items in the kits help many people that find themselves in difficult situations. There is a box  in the Narthex to collect the completed kits thru the first part of September.

Alcoholics Anonymous AA Meetings

A Newly formed meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous will begin meeting in May.  The meeting, which is a closed meeting-open to members or prospective members who desire to stop drinking-will be held in the Youth Room at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Thursday nights at 7:00 pm.

For those who are unfamiliar, Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.  The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.  There are no dues or fees for AA membership; each group is self-supporting through our own contributions.  AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organizations or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes.  Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Thank you for your continued support in our mission.
